Catching up...

Let's start where we left off, one year ago in August.

 In September and October at The Still and Moving Center we featured amazonite

 and carnelian.

Hawaiian Magpie introduced some magnificent spiral earrings

in different sizes.

 

We had some new designs with ball chain

and linked chain

 We had some classic conservative earrings

and some funky wrapped pieces.

The Still And Moving Center is a fantastic new 

yoga/dance studio that opened recently in Honolulu. 

They have a huge range of classes and a really beautiful facility.

There is a variety of pieces in their boutique,

each labeled to identify the different minerals

and packaged in a bed of salt to cleanse the stones.

Amazonite and Amethyst

 

This month at PT Massage, Hawaiian Magpie is featuring

Amazonite,

more Amazonite

and some Amethyst

and a little Ametrine .

I fell in love with Amazonite when I found this stone in Antigua, Guatemala, back in April.

The richness of the purple and blue together are irresistible to me.

Like a robins egg. Do you remember the color? That tiny, fragile half of a shell you'd find on the sidewalk in late spring; you'd pick it up knowing that somewhere above you a new little robin had started it's life.

 There are some whimsical pendants.

 Some minimalistic bracelets.

Custom Clasp

I had a particularly lovely little custom order to do this week. 

Linda Weiland is an amazing woman who was recently elected as the president for the Honolulu chapter of 

Zonta; a womens advocacy group. You can check out her blog here.

Linda got some fabulous pearls from an estate sale several years ago, but sadly the clasp just wasn't up to snuff. I built a delicate little gold S shaped clasp right onto the necklace. 

Linda hand picked 3 beautiful pieces of green amazonite which I made into matching earrings and pendant, with a bail large enough to slip over her wonderful pearls.

Arrowhead

I had an interesting project recently: an arrowhead pendant.

 

T went to Colorado, and while there found a genuine Native American artifact: a broken arrowhead. 

She brought it back to Honolulu and asked me to wrap it for her. Not your usual pendant, eh?

My friend Lourdes

took one look at this Amazonite pendant while I was in the middle of putting it together and had to have it.
